About myself:
I'm a common guy so I don't do anything interesting everyday. In weekends I attend to school, rather for relax than for a knowledge. I make maps for few years (three or four) and I believe it will be making them another few years. Till now I was designing levels for Q3, D3 and for Painkiller. Currently I carve a map for Q2. I also play on guitar but I'm no genious musican, I do it for fun.

NecrosiS about Zawiercie:
Ugly city. There is absolutely nothing interesting here (even a single café! :D). The only things that I could recommend are neogothic church, a railway station (it could be really nice without boozers around) and a park in the center of the city - you can drink there without a fear of meeting with cops.

Behind the scenes

I started with a room with jumppads and slowly I added to it other rooms. Portals had been made long time ago for necro6 - a map which I never finished. When RL and RA rooms were ready I invented that I could add a little open space to the map. I've got no idea how this would impact a gameplay (now I know it was rather bad move) but I was sure it will make the level more yummy :D

When whole map was finished I added flying spacecraft, (something like Stroggship in Q2) and rotating comsat stations behind "big glass".

The biggest problem I had was linked to red poratls. Flying skulls were generated in Particle Studio, but I had to manually fix them to make their flight longer and more varied. In my humble opinion the effect is just brilliant :D
